Swarm – Patch 0.5.2

Swarm – Patch 0.5.2

  • We’ve added a backup system for save games:
    • Up until now, when the game detected a corrupted save game it would completely erase it so the game could be launched again. However, this has lead to players losing their progress completely.
    • From now on, the system will create a copy of your current save game before overwriting it, and if your save game ends up corrupted one way or another, it will offer you to return to that backup.
    • While some progress might still be lost in the process, it will not be all progress like it’s happened up until now.
    • Please note that the backup isn’t bulletproof. It can get corrupted, in which case the save game will be erased so you can continue playing, or it can have issues saving. That’s why we always encourage you to close the game in a safe way (avoid alt+f4 or abrupt turning off of the computer), and to please share with us any crash you might experience. You can do so here.
  • We’ve reworked the in-game status pickups.
    • They now work similar to a Tech in the sense that the playable Temtem is the center of it, and it expands outwards in a circle, applying the status and dealing damage in waves.
  • The Temtem portraits are now animated across the board!
    • However, since this can consume more resources, we’ve added a setting for it in the Settings menu, so you can turn it on or off depending on your specs.
  • We’ve added a summary of dash damage to the end-of-the-run screen!
  • We’ve added a myriad of new, informative notifications for all sort of situations when trying to connect with other players.

  • We’ve made some adjustments to the way things are loaded, so you should see faster loading time, less use of resources when you’re in the menu, and way less crashes upon opening the game.
    • The Arbury shores should now display movement!
  • We’ve adjusted the camera on big Temtem so it’s less prone to causing dizziness or confusion.
  • We’ve adjusted the sound when finishing a Nest event so it doesn’t end abruptly.
  • We’ve added a spawn VFX for Tems only on resolutions over 16:9, which could see the Temtem magically spawn in a frame on the borders of the screen.
  • We’ve made a couple of changes and fixes so we can get Temtem: Swarm Steam Deck Verified!
  • We’ve made a couple of improvements to the visibility of damage numbers, but it’s still a work in progress and it’ll be different in the future!

Techniques

  • Seismunch’s Wreck
    • Base Speed bonus has been decreased 72% ➜ 40%
    • Seismunch’s Wreck has been modified to work on percentage increases instead of on a fixed increase. To make sure the numbers were correct, we’ve adjusted the base speed bonus.
    • We’ve also made sure it took into account any Skill Tree upgrade, so the ultimate will always be x% over the current Temtem speed.
