Patch 1.8 will be hitting your doorstep sooner than you expect!
Hello, Tamers! Today we’re here to shed some new light on the approximate release date for patch 1.8, which has been slightly pushed to earlier than originally planned. That’s right, for once we’re not here to share a delay, but rather an advance!
Patch 1.8 will be launched in early September, even if its scheduled date was early October. We’ll be able to give you the specific day in a little time!
As many of you already know from our post on the future of Temtem, patch 1.8 is the last big content update we have planned for Temtem. After this patch, there’ll be updates to fix bugs, correct balance, or any other utility reason. These patches won’t follow a regular schedule, but rather they’ll be made when needed. They will be different from the updates so far. 1.8 is that cherry on top that will give the game a huge makeover to make sure it’s enjoyable, fun and kind to all the players who continue enjoying Temtem on a daily basis, and any new players who might make their way into the Archipelago.
Since the restrictions on Tamer Passes will be gone, and you’ll be able to select any Tamer Pass from any Season you want, this will not affect to those of you who are after the Season 7 cosmetics at present. Since all cosmetics will also be available to anyone by then, you’ll be able to purchase all the cosmetics from previous Seasons (including Season 7) and events, which means this change in dates will not affect you.
The bug fixes we have been making for patch 1.7.2 will be merged onto 1.8. We know these might be disappointing and frustrating news to some, but with the time required to pass certification on all platforms it’s impossible to make both patches happen with this new change to schedule.
For our PvP players, this does affect you a tad more. The Ranked Season will be shorter following this change, ending on the day we launch patch 1.8. Everything else follows this change, meaning you’ll have until that day to play your 10 placement matches to be able to qualify for the Season 7 rewards. Please keep this in mind! This will also mean there won’t be enough time for a mid-season balance patch on patch 1.7.2, but there are enough balance changes in patch 1.8 to make up for it.
Now that we’re not restricted by the Season system —since patch 1.8 does not come with a themed Season—, we’re way too eager to let you enjoy all the improvements and quality of life changes that patch 1.8 will bring. We’re very excited about you having access to all Tamer Passes, all cosmetics, and a good chunk of other sweet changes.
This post is just meant to inform you about the change in dates, but we’ll be going into spoilery details about 1.8 as it approaches (now even faster than before!). Please rest assured that we will be reminding you of this change throughout all our communication platforms, but if you come across an uninformed Tamer please let them know!
See you soon for more 1.8 and more Temtem: Swarm! Until then, have fun and Temtem up!
